DU JAT 2016 was held on June 20, 2016 between 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The exam was conducted by University of Delhi. More than 66000 students had appeared for this exam. Each question carried three marks and for every wrong answer invited a fine of 1 mark. There were four sections in the paper viz., General Awareness, General English, Analytical & Logical Reasoning and Quantitative Aptitude, with 30 questions in each section. Overall, the level of the paper was moderate.
Most of the questions in this section were from current affairs where there were fairly good number of questions which were business related while a few questions were related to sports. There were few questions from culture and also, a few questions of International affairs. A good score here would be between 40 and 47.
Majority questions were based on vocabulary. Moderate level of questions included - Questions on synonyms, word meanings and idioms, five Para-jumbles. There was one passage with five questions. Questions on fill in the blanks and vocabulary too were there which could be attempted by understanding the context of the sentences. A good score of approximately 53-58 would be good here.
There were good number of questions based on Arrangement and Comparisons with A few questions from blood relations, series, puzzles, coding and decoding. There was not even one questions based on data interpretation. A score of approximately 60 – 65 would be good here.
The difficulty level of these questions ranged from moderate to difficult. The section had a good mix of questions from higher mathematics, like Set theory, Relations and Functions, Calculus, Co-ordinate geometry, Vectors, Inequality etc. A score of around 55 – 60 could be a decent score.
