Common Admission Test (CAT) is an all India Entrance test conducted by IIMs. The Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) started this exam and is a pre-requisite for selecting students for their business administration programs. This computer-based test is conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) for admission to their 2-year full time postgraduate programs in management along with a few Executive programs and Fellowship programs in Management Click here to view the detailed list of programs. Other top Indian B-schools like IITs, FMS, S P Jain, MDI, and NITIE accept CAT test scores as part of their selection process.
The official IIM CAT website is updated. The CAT 2016 exam was conducted on the 4th December 2016 in 138 cities by IIM Bangalore preceded by IIM Ahmedabad in 2015.
This year IIM Lucknow shall conduct the test with TCS as the technology support partner. The CAT 2017 Convenor Professor Neeraj Dwivedi, IIM Lucknow PGP Admission Chairperson announced the notification on 30th July 2017.

Test Cities and Centres will be assigned to the candidates only after the last date for CAT 2017 registration and hence candidates need not rush to block slots and cities in the initial days of registration.
CAT will be conducted in centres spread across around 140 test cities. Details about the test centres in these test cities will be available on IIM CAT website from 25th October, 2017 and the name of the test centre will be indicated in the Admit Card. IIMs reserve the right to change or cancel any test centre / city and/or change the test time and date at their own discretion.
