The Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) was established in 1936 as the Sir Dorabji Tata Graduate School of Social Work. In 1944, it was renamed as the Tata Institute of Social Sciences. The year 1964 was an important landmark in the history of the Institute, when it was declared Deemed to be a University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act (UGC), 1956.
Since its inception, the Vision of the TISS has been to be an institution of excellence in higher education that continually responds to changing social realities through the development and application of knowledge, towards creating a people-centred, ecologically sustainable and just society that promotes and protects dignity, equality, social justice and human rights for all.
TISS ANNOUNCES Admission to the 2018-20 batch for it's Full-Time (Regular) Post-Graduate Degree Programmes (M.A., M. Sc., M.H.A., M.P.H.) offered from Mumbai, Tuljapur, Guwahati, Hyderabad campuses and other locations. Mumbai, Tuljapur, Guwahati and Hyderabad campuses have independent high quality faculty engaged in teaching, research, policy and outreach activities. The Tuljapur, Guwahati and Hyderabad campuses are networked with Mumbai campus to access library, online books and journals and classes. All campuses have unified campus placement policy and placement process.

Note 1: Candidates applying through the online application form will have to upload the certificates mentioned above. Those who are submitting a hard copy of the application form should post along with the application form the above mentioned documents attested by any School Headmaster or a Principal of College or a Gazetted Officer. (Ref Reservation Section on the admission website). Requests received without the above Certificates will be rejected and no communication will be sent in this regard.
Note 2: SC/ST candidates whose annual family income is <=250000 and OBC(NC) candidates whose annual family income is <=100000 have to upload Income certificate for the Financial Year 2015-2016 issued by Revenue Officer.

Merit List preparation:
