National Law University, Delhi, abbreviated as NLUD, was founded in 2008. It is one of the premier law schools in the country, offering courses at undergraduate (B.A. LL.B) and postgraduate (LL.M) levels. It is situated in Sector 14, Dwarka, New Delhi, India. Although CLAT was in force at the time of its establishment, NLU-D decided to stay out CLAT and conduct its own entrance exam.
The entrance exam conducted by NLU-Delhi for its law courses is known All India Law Entrance Test (AILET). This test being one of the prestigious and popular among law aspirants, is conducted on a national level. Every year, more than 10,000 students take this exam.
The detailed notification for the AILET is published in leading national newspapers and on the University website during January every year. In the year 2017, test locations were spread across the country viz Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai, Cochin, Cuttack, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jammu, Jodhpur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Patna, Raipur and Varanasi. AILET 2018 will be conducted on 6th May 2018 i.e. the first Sunday of May 2018.
