IPUCET Syllabus

All four sections of IPUCET have equal weight-age. Compared to CLAT the emphasis on application of legal principles is less in IPUCET.

Topic wise and section wise weight-age of the syllabus: 

English Language and Comprehension: 25%

  2. Sentence Construction – 5%
  3. Narration – 5% Comprehension – 5%
  4. Vocabulary – 5%

General Knowledge -25%

  1. National Culture and History - 5%
  2. Geography and Natural Resources - 5%
  3. Science and Technology 5%
  4. International Affairs - 5%
  5. Current National Events - 5%

Reasoning: 25%

  1. 1. Numerical - 10%
  2. Logical - 15%

Legal Aptitude: 25%

  1. General Legal Awareness - 10%
  2. Understanding and Application of Legal Principles - 15%

Vocabulary, Sentence Analysis, Noun & Pronoun Errors, Subject-Verb Agreement & Tenses, verbal and critical reasoning, Logical Consistency, Modifiers & Parallelism, Prepositions and Conjunctions, Idioms & Phrases etc.

General Knowledge

Indian History, World History, Current Affairs, Indian Geography World Geography, Indian Constitution, Indian & World Economy, Banking & Financial Institutions, National Insignia, International News, Science, Computers, Sports and Movies, Prizes, Awards and Honors, Personalities, Literature and Media, Days and Dates etc.

Reasoning

Coding & Decoding, Analogies, Odd One Out, Family Tree & Directions, Arrangements: Linear/Circular/Matrix, Groups & Conditionality, Logical Series, Selection Criteria, Sequential I/P - O/P Tracing, Symbol Based Logic, Logical Puzzles, Syllogisms, strong & weak arguments, Critical Reasoning, Cause effects, Implicit Assumptions, Inferences, statement conclusions etc.

Legal Aptitude

Law of Tort, Fundamentals of Law of Contract ,Basics of Criminal Law, Basics of Constitutional Law, Family Law, Procedural Law, Property Law & Intellectual Property Law.
