SET LAW 2017 Analysis

SET (LAW) 2017 Analysis

Symbiosis International University conducted SET Law 2017 test for admission to Symbiosis law schools located in Pune, Hyderabad and Noida on May 6, 2017.

The test had 5 sections with 30 questions in each section. The duration of the examination was 150 minutes (2 1/2 Hrs.). Each question had 4 options and carried one mark each. There was no negative marking for incorrect answers.

1. Analytical Reasoning
Both the LR & AR sections were easy to moderate. Most of the questions were of Statement & Conclusion, Cause & Effect type. The level of difficulty of this section was medium. This section had many questions from Mathematics. The questions were from Profit and loss, Classic clocks, Percentage, Time and Work, Averages, Ratio & Proportion areas.

2. Legal Reasoning
This section was heavy on reasoning, but on an easier side. Nearly half of the questions in this section were of the kind wherein facts were provided but the related legal principles were missing. Students who had a sound knowledge of common legal principles would have found them very easy. This section also saw a fair representation of assertion - reasoning and legal GK questions.

3. Logical Reasoning
This section had questions on DI (4), Family Tree (2), Coding-Decoding (5), Groups & Conditionalities, Venn Diagrams, Implicit Assumptions (8), etc. The questions were easy and this section could have been attempted in 30 minutes.

3. Reading Comprehension
Reading Comprehension was the easiest of all sections. It had 6 passages with 5 questions each. Most of them were direct questions and were easy.

4. General Knowledge

The questions in GK section were easy to moderately difficult. The static GK component had many questions from basic sciences. There from History / Geography. Current Affairs had 9-10 questions. Out of them, 2-3 questions were about appointments and the rest were from government & politics.

Like a typical SET(Law) paper, time was not a constraint & with a decent reading speed and comprehension, one could easily solve entire paper with 15-20 minutes to spare
