Indian MBA Aspirants have a limited number of seats available with the best institutes in the country. Usually, the students begin with aspirations to study in the IIMs and then get into the ‘compromise’ mode. An optimist will fold his hands after the CAT. A pessimist will throw up his hands after the CAT. A realist will ask himself a question “What if I don’t make it to my B-School of choice?”
A] I will compromise and join any B-School
B] I will not compromise and try once again
C] I have work experience and I will create alternative paths
If your response is A, then you must understand that compromise is not the right solution. Make sure that the institute you choose to join is the right fit with respect to your ability, profile and aspirations. However, in the event that you need to join a B-school this year due to various constraints, do a very careful evaluation of the B-School before taking the final decision. For all information that you need related to any B-School and to take an informed decision, visit your nearest IMS centre or write to ims@imsindia.com.
IF your response is B, then you have a winner’s attitude and may success be yours! IMS supports students with this attitude through its past student support program by offering 20% to 100% course fee waiver if the student wishes to re-join the CAT program.
Further, if you are a fresher you should consider gaining valuable work experience. Your work experience would add value to your resume. With the ongoing trend of work experience before aspiring for an MBA would be an added advantage while being interviewed at the b-school. This would help you gauge practical knowledge, which in turn could be related to theoretical knowledge while doing your masters in business administration. Apart from helping you seek a job you could also enhance your skills.
If your response is C, you spread your wings by looking at the global arena. Since 2005, thousands of working professionals took IMS’ advice and explored the uncharted territory of the Global MBA. Today, they are pursuing their MBA in reputed management institutes across the globe like Wharton, INSEAD, MIT and LBS. We encourage you to explore this opportunity to pursue a global MBA program.
