NIACL AO: Exam Analysis

Paper analysis of New India Assurance Company limited Preliminary Exam for Recruitment of Administrative Officers (Morning Shift 17th Dec 2016)

The exam was conducted by IBPS for NIACL. The overall structure of the NIACL Prelims exam was same like IBPS PO , with 3 sections, 5 options, one mark allotted for correct answer and a negative marking of 0.25 mark allotted for every wrong answer. The overall difficulty level of the exam was moderate and a little difficult as compared to the previous ones. While most of the questions were easy to moderate in terms of the level of difficulty, a few questions were carefully placed between questions as sitters. The best approach to succeed in these type of exams is to identify the difficult or time consuming questions and attempt them last.

S.No Sections No. of  Questions Marks Duration
1 English Language 30 30

  Total 100 100

The analysis of each of the sections is as given below:

English Language

Overall this section was of moderate difficulty level, but some questions were way too easy. The best approach to maximize score in this section is to attempt cloze and error spotting first and then go for the reading comprehension. This section was moderate in difficulty . Of the two DI sets,  one set was table based other was on pie-chart. There were 5 simplification questions asked.
