These tests are conducted on an All India Level and their scores are accepted by the institutes allied to them. Thus by taking one National Test, you can apply to several B-schools. CAT, XAT, MAT, ATMA etc. fall in this category.

Process Of Application

In case of National tests, a student has to first register for the test and then individually apply to all the institutes of his choice. Institutes communicate the details of application either through ads or through their website. The time of application could be -

1. Before the test

2. After the test with or without the percentile score in the concerned test

However, in case of some institutes, the process is very different. These institutes evaluate the written test score of all the candidates irrespective of whether they have applied or not.

Shortlisted candidates have the option of appearing for the next stage for which they are required to register and make the necessary payments before the GD / PI.
