CET 2009 - An Overview

 

Maharashtra CET, held on 15 February 2009, was easy but lengthy and time-consuming compared to last year’s test. 
The Verbal Ability, Verbal Reasoning and Reading Comprehension questions were very tricky because there were some new varieties. Even Logical Reasoning questions had some new formats. Data Interpretation questions were calculation intensive.
Some of the questions from Visual Reasoning were similar to the ones that appeared in the SIMCETs.

MAT Analysis
The MAT held on September 6, 2009, contained a mixed bag of questions ranging from easy to difficult. There was sectional division, with a total of 5 sections and 40 questions per section.
The test booklets were of different series – A to M.

CAT has traditionally been a Paper Based Test (PBT) with objective questions. The CAT consists of questions that evaluate a candidate's quantitative, verbal, logical and data interpretive abilities.

XAT is a logic-intensive and reading-intensive paper. Though it resembles CAT, the types of questions in XAT are very different from CAT. Also, it has progressive negative marking (one fourth of a mark is deducted for the first six incorrect answers in each section and half a mark is deducted for each incorrect answer thereafter), which does not allow one to indulge in guessing.
