LAUNCHED in 2006, it thrilled students across 10 cities. On its second run in 2007, it spread the excitement to 24 cities. Now having got collegians addicted to its unique mix of excitement, rewards and fame, India's biggest intercollegiate quiz returns with its third edition. True to its tradition of coming back bigger and better, IQ 2008 will look for the country's smartest collegians across 32 cities!
The IQ quiz rounds deviate from the standard routine of plain questions and answers. IQ quizmasters, particularly the renowned quizmaster Charanpreet, keep participants riveted with interesting facts, trivia, friendly ragging and yes, generous servings of crazy humour.
The IQ quiz environment too breaks away from the conventional auditorium format. IQ 2008 is set to give students an even bigger high, with its locale for the semis and finals: National University of Singapore.
Finally, the IQ rewards. IQ 2008 has in store grander prizes such as a trip to Singapore, bikes, laptops, tours to destinations like Goa, Jaipur etc, ipods and more. National fame is another coveted reward.
The scale of India's biggest intercollegiate quiz is evident not just from the number of participating colleges (1000 expected in 2008) but also the profile of sponsors participating. IQ 2008 has the following entities partnering it: DHL, Singapore Tourism Board, TVS, Pagalguy.com, CNBC, Welingkar Institute for Management Education and Education Times.
Twelve of India's smartest collegians will battle it out for the National honours at the National University of Singapore — one of the world's leading business education schools. The team that gets recognised as the 'Smartest Collegian Trio' will get national fame with the telecast of the Grand Finale on CNBC.
IQ 2008 had a grand opening on January 13, 2008 at Pune and Nasik.
