The truth about a Global MBA:

It is easier to get admitted to a Global MBA Program than a reputed MBA Program in India via the CAT route.

GMAT® Indian MBA
18,000 Indian Students took GMAT® in 2008 About 2.7 Lakh (2008) and 2.2 Lakh (2009) CAT takers
100 top universities translate into 50,000 plus seats 10 top colleges translate into 3000 seats
370+ B schools have worldwide recognition and continue to make waves in the global arena. 25+ manage to create a ripple in the Indian Corporate world

Global MBA Programs are as affordable as Indian programs.

Indian Executive MBA (ISB, IIM-A,C,L) NUS, NTU
1yr program 1 yr program
20 lakhs and increasing 17 lakhs
Started in the current decade- (ISB is the oldest- 2001 origin) Can trace roots to as far back as the 1960s- therefore bigger Alumni penetration
Jobs available within India, Reporting to Singapore (capital of SE Asian region) Placement in Singapore and other regional capitals- Global placement

GMAT® scores are not the be-all and end-all of your application.

Your GMAT® score is just one component of your application. While scoring high on the GMAT® is a plus, your application essays, recommendation letters and resume also play an equally important role.

Consider the statistics given beow:

  • Only 1% of all GMAT® takers score 750 or higher
  • 7% score 700
  • 15% score 650 or higher and (figures should be 650 & lower)
  • 30% score 600 and higher.

Admissions committees around the world use the GMAT® as a standardized assessment to assess the qualifications of applicants for advanced study in business and management , they also value your professional profile, your extracurriculars, your leadership and teamwork experiences and the diversity that you bring to the table. A spectacular GMAT® score does not guarantee a business school admit while a mediocre score will not keep you out of a program if you can bring other credentials to the table.
