NPAT 2020 Analysis

  • NPAT 2020 was online, remote proctored exam. It was conducted over three days.
  • The test started with verbal section, followed by reasoning and quantitative aptitude. Students did not have option to choose the order of sections. While there was no sectional time limit, students could move to next section only after submitting the previous sections.
  • The overall difficulty level of 2020 exam was quite similar to 2019.
  • Marking scheme = +1, zero (No negative marking).

Section 1 - Verbal Ability (40 Q)

RC passages were easy, but one of the passages was tricky. They were based on variety of topics like astrology, environment, fashion, economy, online platform etc. The questions asked were inference and vocabulary based. Overall they were moderate to difficult.

In DI, some questions were easy, others were calculation based. These were time consuming questions. Except for a few questions on DI, this section was scoring one.

The questions were Moderate - Difficult. Some questions were lengthy and calculative. Questions on functions were on composite and inverse functions. They were time consuming. Quadratic equation questions were on based properties of roots.

Questions from statistics & percentage were calculation based, of moderate to difficult level.

Good Score - 22 - 26
Ideal time spent - 35 to 45 min.

Overall difficulty level of NPAT 2020 paper was moderate.
Ideal attempts would be 100+ with a good score of 82+ (NPAT authorities don’t reveal score cut-offs across locations/programs)
