St Xavier's BMS 2020 exam analysis

St. Xavier's conducted BMS 2020 entrance exam in online, home proctored mode.
The test had 100 questions to be answered in 135 minutes.
There were 5 sections with 20 Q in each section.
Marking scheme was +1 for correct answers with no negative marking for the wrong answer.

The section wise analysis is as follows:

General Knowledge - 20 Q

Current Affairs - 8 Q, Business Awareness & Static GK - 6 Q each

Some of the GK topics were cyclone, personalities, logos & taglines, general sciences.

Overall section was of easy - moderate difficulty level

Good Score: 14-15


Mathematics - 20 Q

Questions were from basic maths topis. Majority questions were based on percentages, simple/compound interest, averages, ratios, profit and loss, time and work, time speed and distance.

Overall section was of easy - moderate difficulty level

Good score: 15-17


Data Interpretation - 20 Q

There was one difficult set, the remaining 3 sets were easy with 5 Q in each set.

Overall section was of moderate difficulty level

Good score: 14-15


Logical and Visual Reasoning - 20 Q

Except 2-3 tricky Q, the rest were of easy. The topics covered were blood relations, coding decoding, series etc

Good Score: 16-17


English Language and Comprehension Skills: 20 Q

This section had questions from all the topics. The key topics were vocabulary, active and passive voice, collective nouns, analogies. In RC, there was 1 passage with 5 Q.

Overall section was of moderate difficulty level

Good score: 15-16


Overall good test score would be 77-79.

St Xavier's final merit list will be on the basis of 40% weightage to class XII board marks & 60% weightage to test score.
