Participating in activities of IIP cell and Finomenon would not only give me industrial exposure but, also help share views with ingenious peers and foster my personal growth. I have been passionate about technology since my childhood. This passion led me to pursue a B. Tech. (E&TC) from xxxxx. Management has been an area of interest for me since I started my undergraduate studies, and I chose to pursue a Diploma in Business Management concurrently with my engineering studies because it offered me glimpses of management. Theme 1 – Academic & Professional Background
Post my engineering studies, I joined xxxx as an Associate Software Engineer in 2014, before moving to a Sales role within the organization in 2015, through the prestigious Achievers In the Making (AIM) program. As a Business Development Manager, I was managing one of the organization’s ‘Top 52’ Global Accounts. In recognition of my performance, I was adjudged as ‘Most Promising AIMer in Selling Role’ in 2015. Theme 1 – Academic & Professional Background
I feel that an MBA with a specialization in Marketing is necessary for helping me meet my career and overall development objectives. In the short-term, I aim to work with a top-tier Technology firm with key responsibilities for Sales and Business Development as a Sales Manager. In the long-term, I would like to assume responsibility for the overall P&L of the organization.- Theme 3.1 (career goal)
I believe that an MBA will instil in me academic rigour, a focus on quality, analytical techniques, attention to detail, personal and professional presentation capabilities, , all of which I believe to be essential for a successful career. (Theme 3.3)By pursuing an MBA from NMIMS Mumbai, I hope to gain from the collective wisdom of an experienced faculty and a diverse peer group.Participation in activities organized by functional cells like Not Just Marketing will enrich my learning at NMIMS by offering me the necessary industry exposure and networking opportunities to demonstrate my abilities, and contribute towards achievement of my intended career goals.(Theme 4)
I have always believed that determination, accompanied with commitment and a dedicated pursuit outdoes failure and guarantees success. My staunch belief in these principles has enabled me to score the highest marks from amongst my peers at school and junior college in the subject of Mathematics at the state board examinations held in 2006 and 2008 respectively. I continued this form, by scoring a decent 175/200 in the engineering entrance exams and securing admission to Electronics and Telecommunication engineering at XXXX College of engineering.( Theme 1)
Apart from academics, I am fond of sports, especially cricket. In my leisure time, I play cricket, table tennis or go for a swim. I believe it keeps the body active and prevents lethargy. I have a passion for driving and I go for a drive whenever I am stressed.(Theme 2)
As the P.R.O head of I.E.T.E. (Institute of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers) committee in my college I have been a part of organizing and managing events like Cloud computing workshop, P.C.B. making workshop, 3-D photography workshop. All these events were very successful with a footfall of over 200 students in each event. Having been a part of these events, I have realised the importance of team-work, co-ordination and good managerial skills for success of an event. It has also helped me nurture my leadership skills and ability to work in a team. These experiences would definitely serve as an asset and give me a firm stand while pursuing an M.B.A.(Theme 2)
I have always had a keen interest in finance while pursuing engineering and follow the equity markets passionately. This interest has sparked off in me the ambition to become an investment banker after MBA. I am interested in investment banking because I think I am well suited for this kind of job, requiring business acumen, analytical and logical skills for carrying out financial analysis, developing strategies for acquisitions and mergers of companies, management of IPO’s of companies, etc. 15 years down the line I see myself as a top executive of a leading investment bank. A strong background in finance and economics is a necessity for this profession. Owing to engineering, I have certain analytical and logical skills which would serve me in my quest to become an investment banker. (Theme 3)
