MAT September Notification

MAT September 2018 Notification is out!

Management Aptitude Test (MAT) is a standardised test being administered since 1988 to facilitate Business Schools (B-Schools) to screen candidates for admission to MBA and allied programmes. Govt. of India, Ministry of HRD approved MAT as a national level test in 2003. Any B-School - national or international - can consider MAT Score as an admission input based on the Score Cards issued to the candidates. The largest test of its kind in the nation, MAT will continue to be your passport to over 600 B-Schools across India.

The application process of MAT September 2018 is given below:

Step: 1 Register for the MAT September 2018 exam as per the details below.

Step: 2 Visit the respective B-school website accepting MAT scores to complete the application process in order to be eligible for the 2nd Stage of Admission process.

Last Date to Apply Last date of Online Registration Paper Based Test (PBT): 24th August 2018, Friday. (In this case, do NOT send the printout of the Registration Form. However, the candidate should retain a Printout of Registration Form for reference.) Last Date for Online Registration for Computer Based Test (CBT): 8th September 2018, Saturday.

Eligibility Graduates in any discipline. Final year students of Graduate Courses can also apply.
Test Date Paper based: 2nd September 2018, Sunday. Computer based: 15th September 2018, Saturday.
Test Time Paper based: 10:00am-12:30pm, Reporting Time at Test Centre: 8:00am Hrs. Computer based: In single/different time slots at specific test venues; subject to candidates registration
Test Pattern MAT consists of 200 questions to be answered in 150 mins. Each question has 4 options with 5 Sections: Language Comprehension, Mathematical Skills, Data Analysis and Sufficiency, Intelligence and Critical Reasoning, Indian and Global Environment. Click  here to view the detailed structure.
Marking Pattern 1/4th mark is deducted for each incorrect answer.

Mode of Application Paper and Computer based
Application Fees Paper Based Test (PBT): Rs 1550/-
Computer Based Test (CBT): Rs 1550/-
Both (PBT) & (CBT): Rs 2650/- Note:
Candidate can opt for both the tests i.e. PBT and CBT by paying an extra fees of Rs.1,100/- in addition to Rs.1,550/-.
Candidates opting for both PBT and CBT will have the benefit of selecting additional 2 Management Institutions for sending their scores in addition to existing option of selecting 5 Management Institutions i.e. they can select 7 Management Institutions in total.

  • Select the institutes where you have applied or are applying for admission.
  • Important Notice: Candidates are advised to check the approval/recognition status of various programs directly from the concerned Authorities/ Institutes/ Universities.
  • AIMA has come across a couple of cases where the aspiring candidates' MAT score is not accepted by some participating institutes/universities for admission to MBA full time course despite their confirmation to AIMA MAT at the time of participation by incorporating their notifications in MAT e bulletin. Candidates are advised to recheck with the concerned institutes/universities before applying for MAT.

MAT September Admit Card For Paper Based Test (PBT): 24th August 2018 (16:00 Hrs)
For Computer Based Test (CBT): 11th September 2018 (16:00 Hrs) All provisionally registered candidates for PBT and/or CBT have to download their Admit Card from AIMA  website link as per the schedule given above. Admit Card contains Candidate's Name, Form No, Roll No, Test Date, Test Time and Test Venue Address. Candidate has to strictly follow the date and time allotted to him/her in the case of CBT.
MAT September Result Candidates have to download the MAT Score from AIMA website on or after 21st September 2018.
B-schools accepting MAT Kindly note that students have to register for the MAT and need to apply separately to the B-school by visiting their respective website in order to be eligible for admission.
