IPPB Preliminary 1st Slot: Exam Analysis

Paper analysis of India Post Payment Bank (IPPB) Preliminary Exam for Recruitment of Territory Manager (1st Slot of 8th Jan, 2017)

The exam was conducted by IBPS for India Post Payment Bank(IPPB). The overall structure of the IPPB Territory Manager Prelims exam was same like IBPS PO,with 3 sections, 5 options, one mark allotted for correct answer and a negative marking of 0.25 mark allotted for every wrong answer. The overall difficulty level of the exam was moderate. Most of the questions were moderate in terms of the level of difficulty. The best approach to succeed in these type of exams is to identify the difficult or time consuming questions and attempt them last.

The analysis of each of the sections is as given below:

English Language:

Overall this section was of moderate difficulty level, but some questions were way too easy. The best approach to maximize score in this section is to attempt cloze and error spotting first and then go for the reading comprehension. Some questions in the passage were analytical and were tough to crack.

Overall the section was easy and scoring and was not time consuming like reasoning section. .

Time: 10-12  minutes

Reasoning Ability:

This section was of moderate level. One set of  input output questions were asked. One puzzle set was asked. 2 seating arrangement  sets were there. One linear arrangement set was difficult and other square table arrangement set was moderate. (4 people facing center and other four outside  the center).

Note: Solving Inequalities, directions, Blood relations, puzzle on scheduling, order and syllogisms and then going for arrangements would have been a very good strategy in this section. Input-output which was not asked in the last few exams resurfaced in this exam and was of moderate difficulty.

Good Attempts: 18-20 Questions
Time: 20-25 minutes

Quantitative Aptitude:

This section was moderate in difficulty level. Two DI sets were moderate, one of table and another of Line Graph. There were 5 simplification, 5 Quadratic Equations and 15 Miscellaneous questions asked.

Miscellaneous (Age, Partnership, Profit Loss, Average, Boats & Stream, Compound/Simple Interest, Ratio and Proportion, Percentage, Time & Work, etc.)

A good strategy for this section is to attempt Simplifications followed by Number Series and DI set and then the Miscellaneous part at the end.

Good Attempts: 22-24 Questions
Time: 20 minutes

Conclusion:  A total of 60-65 attempts with 90% accuracy can give you a call for mains exam.
