    • 9 Food Craft Institutes located in different parts of the country offer Diploma programs in specific operational areas

B.Sc. in Hospitality and Hotel Administration Program

  • Programme is jointly offered by the NCHMCT and the IGNOU (Indira Gandhi National Open University)
  • The Three-Year (Six Semester) course equips students with all the required skills, knowledge and attitude to efficiently discharge supervisory responsibilities in the Hospitality sector

Program highlights

  • In-depth laboratory work for students to acquire required knowledge and skill standards in the operational areas of Food Production, Food & Beverage Service, Front Office Operation and House Keeping
  • Managerial inputs in Hotel Accountancy, Food Safety & Quality, Human Resource Management, Facility Planning, Financial Management, Strategic Management, Tourism Marketing and Tourism Management
  • Specialization at IHM Chennai and IHM- Kolkata
  • For Specialization, limited seats are available at each of the two institutes and are offered based on performance in the 1st and 2nd semester examination
  • Students can opt for any one of the three areas of Specialization viz. Food Production Management, Food & Beverage Management and Accommodation Operation Management
  • While the first three semesters are common for all the students, specialization is offered from the 4th semester onwards

Oberoi STEP (Systematic Training and Education Programme)
  • Minimum 61% marks in English in class 10th (Kitchen operations programme)
  • Minimum 51% marks in English in class 10th (Hotel operations programme)
  • 18 to 20 years of age on 15 August of the year of commencement of the programme
  • Test for logical ability and general awareness
  • Three rounds of personal interview
Symbiosis School of Culinary Arts
  • Passed 10 + 2 examinations with at least 50% (45% in case of candidate belonging to reserved category)
  • Good scores/ranks in any one of the following entrance exams. Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET) or NCHMCT-JEE
  • Passed 10 + 2 examinations.
  • Do not have to appear for entrance exam (SET/JEE) in India

Following eligibility rules will be followed for according equivalent to school level certificate IB/ Cambridge board Student.


The candidate must have been awarded full IB Diploma as a qualification for the entry level. The professional course at the institute and is required to have passed the subjects with minimum score of 24 credits and completion of other mandatory requirements for award of IB Diploma. DP Course Certificate by IB shall not be qualifying for equivalence.


A candidate intending to join professional course at the institute must have passed a minimum of 5 subjects including English at minimum of ordinary level (O level) in A, B or C grade. The conversions of IB and IGCSE Examination grades to the score that are suggested on the AIU (Association of Indian Universities) web portal.
