The MH-CET CAP Rounds are a part of the Common Admission Process (CAP) Rounds for admission to the MBA/MMS Institutes of Maharashtra.

Step 1 (Registration Online & Verification Offline) : Announcement of dates for Registration of CAP Rounds & Document Verification at Facilitation Centres
As DTE has announced the CAP rounds process dates candidates need to fill and submit the Online Application Form and visit the Facilitation Centres in person to complete the Documents Verification process.

  • Candidates who have already registered/ appeared for MAH-CET and wish to participate in the DTE CAP rounds need to login as an New Registration
  • Candidates who have taken CMAT/CAT/GMAT/MAT/XAT/ATMA and want to participate for the DTE CAP rounds can also click on New Registration , fill the Application form and pay the Application fees  to register for the DTE CAP rounds.
  • All the Candidates (Already Registered/New Registrations) should confirm the Application Form in person at Facilitation Centres only as per schedule. Do not send by post.

Step 2 (Online): Display of Provisional Merit List on DTE website
  • DTE Provisional Merit list status is out for (MBA/MMS) Admissions 2018-19. Click here and enter your MB-ID & DOB to check your Merit rank.
  • Once all the verification is complete the Provisional merit list is published based on the candidates’ entrance test performance, category and University type.
  • Candidates are advised to check all the details mentioned (Name, Registration Details, Candidature Type Details, Home University & Reservation Details, Qualification Details, All India Exam Detail) In case of any discrepancies, candidates can submit their grievances at the Facilitation centres. A candidate needs to visit the Facilitation centres again and rectify the error. This process needs to be completed within the window period announced by DTE.

Step 3 (Online) : Display of Final Merit List on DTE website and available Category-wise Seats (Seat Matrix) for CAP Rounds I, II and III.

  • DTE Final Merit list status is out for (MBA/MMS) Admissions 2018-19. Click here and enter your MB-ID & DOB to check your Merit rank.
  • Post the rectification period, DTE shall display the Final Merit list and Final score card.
  • A candidate needs to make a note of his State General Merit Number and All India Merit number as this shall be considered for online CAP round seat allotment.
  • This year DTE shall display Category-wise Seats (Seat Matrix) available for each CAP Rounds( I, II, III).
  • DTE shall display of sanctioned intake, Seat Distribution of Institutes along with their Choice codes on website. Hence, candidates can make a note of their choice of institute’s and note their choice codes.

Step 4: Submission and confirmation of online option form for CAP (Round I, II, and III)


  • Candidates need to login with the registered user id and password to fill and Confirm Online Option Form with preferences of Courses and Institutions before CAP Round. Candidates may fill in minimum 1 and maximum 300 choices of Institutes and Courses in decreasing order of their preference.

  • Points to remember:
    • Allotment against the first available option in the order of preference filled in shall be retained as final allotment. The serial number of block in the option form indicates preference of choice. Thus, the choice code of the institute filled by the candidate in block No. 1 will be his/her first preference (Highest Priority Choice).
    • This year Candidates can edit the Online Submission & Confirmation of Option Form for each CAP Round (I, II, III and additional round) by using candidates Login through the website unlike last year.
    • Candidate shall confirm the submitted on-line Option Form himself/herself by re-entering Application ID and Password. The candidate can take a printout of the confirmed Option form for his record and future reference.

Step 5: Allotment of Seats for CAP I, II and III


  • The below process of Provisional allotment shall be followed for CAP Rounds I, II, and III as per DTE website
    • Candidate needs to submit the Online Submission & Confirmation of Option Form himself/herself for CAP Round- I by using candidate’s Login by through the admission portal
    • DTE shall display Provisional Allotment of CAP Round I indicating allotted institute and Course.
    • Reporting to the Admission Reporting Center(ARC) as per Allotment of CAP Round I: Reporting and accepting the offered seat as per the allotment of the CAP Round I by the Candidate at Admission Reporting Centre. Before accepting the allotted seat, we suggest all the candidates to check the ‘Freeze’, ‘Slide’ or ‘Float’ options introduced by DTE for MBA/MMS CET CAP rounds. (If seat is allotted, Report to Admission Reporting Centre (ARC), Select Freeze/Slide/Float option. Produce Original Documents for Verification & Pay Seat Acceptance Fee in the form DD.) Refer Instructions for Candidates for details.
    • Note: If candidate fails to report for the acceptance of allotted seat at Admission Reporting Center in scheduled time. It will be treated as if candidate has rejected the allotted seat. However such candidates will be able to participate in subsequent CAP rounds by filling new Option Form.
    • Display of Vacant Seats for CAP Round-II
    • From this year, candidate can edit and submit the Online Submission & Confirmation of Option Form for CAP Round- II by using candidate’s Login through the admission portal.
    • Candidates who do not want to change the options already filled in for CAP Round I or II, their already filled in & confirmed options will be considered for allotment for subsequent rounds.
    • DTE shall display Provisional Allotment of CAP Round II indicating allotted institute and Course.
    • Reporting to the Admission Reporting Center(ARC) as per Allotment of CAP Round II: Reporting and accepting the offered seat as per the allotment of the CAP Round II by the Candidate at Admission Reporting Centre. Before accepting the allotted seat, we suggest all the candidates to check the ‘Freeze’, ‘Slide’ or ‘Float’ options introduced by DTE for MBA/MMS CET CAP rounds. (If seat is allotted first time i.e. in Round II, Report to Admission Reporting Centre (ARC), Select Freeze/Slide/Float option. Produce Original Documents for Verification & Pay Seat Acceptance Fee in the form DD.) Refer Instructions for Candidates for details.
    • The same process as above shall be followed for CAP round III.

  • This year DTE has followed the last year’s process whereby before accepting the allotted seat, a Candidate can opt to ‘Freeze’, ‘Slide’ or ‘Float’ the choice of academic program for subsequent round(s), if any, of seat allocation, as provided below:-
    1. Freeze: Candidates accept the offered seat and they do not want to participate in any further rounds of seat allocation. Such Candidates will not be considered in subsequent rounds of admission.
    2. Slide: Candidates accept the offered seat and indicate that, if admission to the academic program of higher preference is offered within the same Institution, they will accept it. Such Candidates will be considered in subsequent rounds of admission;
    3. Float: Candidates accept the offered seat and indicate that, if admission to an academic program of higher preference in any Institution is offered, they will accept it. Else, they will continue with the currently accepted academic program. Such Candidates will be considered in subsequent rounds of admission;
    4. For Candidates who choose the Float or Slide option, and secures a seat of his choice of higher preference, then it would automatically result in the forfeiture of the seat accepted by the Candidate in the earlier round;
    5. Sliding and Floating options will not be available to a Candidate who is offered admission to his first choice.
    6. This year Candidates can edit the Online Submission & Confirmation of Option Form for each CAP Round (I, II, III and additional round) by using candidate Login through the website like last year.
    7. If candidate fails to report for the acceptance of allotted seat at Admission Reporting Center in scheduled time. It will be treated as if candidate has rejected the allotted seat. However such candidates will be able to participate in subsequent CAP rounds by filling new Option Form.

Candidates are advised to go through the tab"Instructions for Candidates" (as given on DTE website) as given below.

Reporting to the Allotted Institute and Confirmation of Admission by submitting required documents and payment of fees.

This step is for below types of students:

  1. Candidates who have been allotted the seat as per first preference in Round I or freezed their allotment in Round I and reported to ARC.

  2. Candidates who have been allotted the seat as per first preference in Round II or freezed their allotment in Round II and reported to ARC.

  3. Candidates who have been allotted the seat in Round III and reported to ARC.

As per the DTE Website, a candidate who falls in any of the above 3 parameters needs to Report to the Allotted Institute and Confirm Admission by submitting required documents and payment of fees.
The Deadline for the same is 26th July 2018.

Step 7 : Additional CAP round for MBA/MMS 2018-20

This year too DTE shall have an additional CAP round. The process for the same is as below:
Step 1: Display of Vacant Seats for additional round for Government/ Govt. Aided Institutes / University Department only. Date: 30th July 2018
Step 2: Online Submission & Confirmation of Option Form for additional Round for Government/Govt. Aided Institutes only through candidates Login by himself/herself. Period: 31st July to 2nd August 2018
Step 3: Display of Provisional Allotment for Additional Round for Government/Govt. Aided Institutes only.  Date: 3rd August 2018
Step 4: Reporting to the Allotted Institute and Confirmation of Admission. Period: 4th to 6th August 2018

The DTE Website doesn’t state the eligibility for Additional CAP Round however, as per page 20 DTE information brochure dated 18-06-2018, below types of candidates are eligible to participate in additional CAP round IV.

(i) Candidates as per the sub-rule 3(c) and 3(d) below;
(ii) Candidates who have not been allotted any seat in any of the previous rounds;
(iii) Candidates who did not participate (failure of filling option form) in previous rounds.  
3(C) Candidate who have been allotted seat other than first preference and accepted the seat by reporting to ARC for confirmation of seat acceptance shall be eligible for participation in the subsequent rounds for betterment;
3(D) Candidate who have been allotted seat other than first preference and not accepted the seat by not reporting to ARC for confirmation of seat acceptance shall be eligible for participation in the subsequent rounds;

1. If a candidate is allotted the seat as per his first preference:- 
a. Such allotment shall be auto freezed and the candidate shall accept the allotment so made. 
b. Such candidate shall not be eligible for participation in the subsequent CAP rounds. 
c. Such candidates shall then report to ARC for verification of documents and payment of seat acceptance fee as per the notified schedule. 
d. Thereafter such candidates shall report to the allotted institute and seek admission on the allotted seat as per the notified schedule. 
e. If such candidate does not report to ARC for confirmation of seat acceptance, their claim on the allotted seat shall stand forfeited automatically; the allotment so made shall be the final allotment. 

2. If a candidate is allotted seat other than his first preference:-
a. If the candidate is satisfied with such allotment and do not wish to participate in further CAP rounds, such candidate can freeze the offered seat through Candidate's login.
b. However, the candidate has to exercise this deliberate option of freezing cautiously with full understanding. 
c. Once the candidate willingly freezes the allotted seat, such candidate shall then report to ARC for verification of documents and payment of seat acceptance fee as per the notified schedule. Such candidate shall then be not eligible for participation in the subsequent CAP rounds. The allotment so made shall be the final allotment.
d. Thereafter such candidates shall report to the allotted institute and seek admission on the allotted seat as per the notified schedule.
e. If such candidate does not report to ARC for confirmation of seat acceptance, their claim on the allotted seat shall stand forfeited automatically. 

3.  Candidate who wants to participate in the next Round: - 
a. Candidate who have been allotted seat other than first preference and accepted the seat by reporting to ARC for confirmation of seat acceptance shall be eligible for participation in the subsequent rounds for betterment. 
b. Candidate who have been allotted seat other than first preference and not accepted the seat by not reporting to ARC for confirmation of seat acceptance shall be eligible for participation in the subsequent rounds.
c. Candidates at 3(a) & 3(b) shall submit & confirm fresh options for the subsequent rounds.

4. At the time of reporting to ARC for confirming the allotted seat, the candidate shall produce all the original documents in support of the claims made in the application. In the event the candidate fails to produce the documents in support of the claim, so made in the application, the allotment shall stand cancelled automatically and the seat shall become available for allotment in further rounds. 

5. Candidate shall produce the set of copies certified by FC for verification to ARC. The ARC shall verify set of copies certified by FC from Original and put ARC stamp with date & Signature and return original and verified documents along with Receipt cum-Acknowledgement of Seat Acceptance. (Candidate shall submit FC and ARC stamped &verified set of documents to the Institute at the time of reporting)

6. Seat Acceptance Fees of Rs.1000/- (Rupees One Thousand only) shall be paid by online mode through candidate's Login or at ARC. It is treated as non-refundable processing fees.

7. Candidate has to report to ARC only once for Seat acceptance, after the first time Allotment.
