IIT Delhi MBA Admission Process: Step-by-Step Selection Process
1. CAT 2025 Shortlisting
The first step for any candidate seeking admission is to appear for the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2025 and list IIT Delhi as an option. Shortlisting for interviews is typically based on CAT score, academic records, work experience (where applicable), and other diversity parameters.
2. Personal Interview (PI)
Candidates shortlisted after CAT results are invited for the Personal Interview (PI), which is generally conducted in March at the IIT Delhi campus. This round assesses communication skills, leadership potential, subject-knowledge, and overall fit for management education.
3. Final Merit List
The final selection is made by combining the CAT score (weighted heavily), interview performance, academic records, and other factors. Final admission offers are typically announced by May each year.
4. Enrollment and Orientation
Selected candidates must complete registration procedures and pay requisite fees before attending the orientation program which is usually conducted in July.
IIT Delhi MBA Admission Criteria: Eligibility for IIT Delhi MBA?
The candidates with following qualifications are eligible to apply for admission to the MBA program at IIT Delhi:
- A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent from any universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India/other educational institutions/deemed as a University.
- The bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification after higher secondary schooling (10+2) or equivalent.
- A minimum of 60% marks in aggregate (of all the years/semesters) or 6.00 CGPA on a 10 point scale or equivalent in the qualifying degree.
- A relaxation of 5% in marks (i.e. min. 55%) or equivalent in CGPA (i.e. min. 5.50 on a 10-point scale) for the SC/ST/PwD candidates.
- Candidates in the final year of bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who are awaiting results can also apply. If selected, such candidates will join the program provisionally, only if she/he submits a certificate by certain date.
- Those having applied to IIT Delhi MBA programs on qualifying the CAT 2025 will be shortlisted and then invited for a interview at IIT Delhi.
Fees for IIT Delhi MBA Admission
The application fees for IIT Delhi MBA:
Rs. 1600 for GEN/OBC/EWS, and Rs. 800 for SC/ST/PWD per program.
The fee structure for the 2025-2027 batch of IIT Delhi MBA Program:
- General/OBC/EWS: Tuition fee per semester is Rs. 3 lakhs, Institute Residence fee is Rs. 8,600, and Other Charges are Rs. 22,400.
- SC/ST/PwD: Tuition fee per semester (reduced), Other Charges: Rs. 22,400/-, and Institute Residence Fee: Rs. 8,600/-
The tuition fees for Indian citizens: Rs. 12 Lakhs for the entire MBA Program (payable in 4 equal semesters)
