The LNAT-UK test is a gold standard in law school admissions, with member law schools including Oxford, Cambridge, LSE, UCL, King’s College, Durham & Glasgow, among others. JGLS is the only Indian law school to be a member of the LNAT Consortium, based at the University of Oxford in the UK.

Three Phases of Admissions in 2026

Explaining the admission process of JGLS, Professor Anand Prakash Mishra, Vice Dean of the Law School and Director of Law Admissions, explained that 100% of admissions in our flagship 5-year law programs, including BComLLB Hons, BBALLB Hons, and BALLB Hons, and the 3-year LLB degree, will be based on LNAT scores only. We don’t accept any other admission test. He added that there will be three phases of admissions as follows:

About the LNAT-UK Test

The LNAT-UK is a globally benchmarked, standardised admissions test. This Test evaluates critical thinking and advanced English language and reading comprehension skills. It assesses your aptitude for legal studies rather than knowledge of specific legal subjects or rote memorization.

You can go through the online LNAT-UK practice tests at: https://lnat.ac.uk/how-to-prepare/practice-test/

Test Format

A two-part test with the first part being multiple-choice questions based on 12 passages, and the second part being an essay.

  • Section A: The first part is a computer-based multiple-choice exam. You’ll be asked to read passages of text and answer questions that test your comprehension of them. Your scores from the multiple-choice section of the test are checked by computer, and a mark out of 42 is created. This is known as your LNAT score.
  • Section B: In the second part of the test, you will be asked to write one essay from a list of three proposed subjects.

Note: JGLS does not require or consider the essay part of its admissions process. You don’t need to write an essay if you’re applying only to JGLS.

The LNAT-UK Online Learning Program 2026, with Expert Mentors, is exclusively designed for students who have completed or are currently appearing for the Class 12th examination in 2026.
