BDL Recruitment 2025: Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit

The upper age limit for General, Unreserved, and EWS candidates is 28 years as of 10th August 2025. Relaxations are provided as per government guidelines:

Educational Qualifications

Candidates must have the following qualifications with a minimum of 55% aggregate (50% for SC/ST/PwBD for reserved posts) as of 10th August 2025:

Note: SC/ST/PwBD candidates applying for unreserved posts will be evaluated under general merit standards without relaxation in qualification percentage.

BDL Recruitment 2025: Selection Process

The selection process comprises two stages:

  1. Written Test (Computer-Based Online Test – CBOT):
    • Duration: 2 hours
    • Total Questions: 120
      • 100 questions on Subject/Discipline
      • 20 questions on General Aptitude (Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning, General English)
    • Qualifying Marks:
      • General: 50%
      • OBC (NCL)/SC/ST/PwBD (for reserved posts): 40%
    • Weightage: 85% of total marks
  2. Interview:
    • Shortlisted candidates will be called in a ratio of 1:7 (up to 1:10) based on merit
    • Weightage: 15% of total marks

BDL Recruitment 2025: Remuneration and Tenure

The positions are contractual with the following remuneration structure:

Additionally, candidates receive ₹10,000/year for expenses like medical insurance, attire, and footwear, paid in two instalments. The contract starts with a 1-year tenure, extendable up to 4 years, with a possible additional 4-year term based on performance and organizational needs. Contract employees are not entitled to regular employment.

BDL Recruitment 2025: Application Process

Applications must be submitted online via BDL’s official website from 17th July 2025 (2:00 PM) to 10th August 2025 (4:00 PM). Required documents include:

  • Passport-size photograph (taken within the last 3 months)
  • Signature
  • Date of Birth proof
  • Category certificates (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS/PwBD) in the prescribed format
  • Qualification certificates and mark sheets
  • Disability certificate for PwBD (minimum 40% disability)
  • Discharge certificate for Ex-Servicemen
  • Domicile certificate for J&K candidates (1980-1989)

The application fee is ₹300 (excluding taxes) for UR/EWS/OBC (NCL) candidates, payable via SBI e-pay. SC/ST/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen are exempt.

BDL Recruitment 2025: Reservations and Relaxations

Reservations for SC, ST, OBC (NCL), EWS, and PwBD follow government norms. Candidates must submit valid certificates in the prescribed format.
