Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, better known as the CEO Factory, is one of Mumbai’s best management institutions, offering MMS, MHRD, and MSc in Finance degrees. As can be gleaned from the moniker, CEO Factory, JBIMS is renowned for the quality of its graduates. It shouldn’t come as a surprise that the qualification parameters to get admission here are extremely high. Unlike most of its other top-ranked peers, JBIMS only considers qualification entrance exam scores and does not conduct any interviews or group discussions. This means that to have any hope of getting in, you will have to clear the stringent JBIMS cutoff. To be part of the illustrious alumni base of this college, you need to score more than the JBIMS cutoff scores for CAT, CET, and CMAT.

JBIMS admission process

JBIMS, established by the University of Mumbai in 1965, is an autonomous management institute in Mumbai that has cemented its name as one of India’s premier institutes. However, the admission process it follows is unlike any of its other top-ranking peers. While most colleges of its stature conduct additional WAT and GDPI rounds to build a composite score with various components, JBIMS offers admission solely on merit derived from entrance test scores as per the final merit list created by DTE, Maharashtra. Every year, it participates in the DTE CAP rounds held in Maharashtra for admission to management programs across the state.

Students seeking admission to this college need to sign up for the DTE CAP round and participate in the common counselling process. Admission will be offered based on the final merit list released by the CET Cell of Maharashtra.

Apart from JBIMS, other top MBA programs such as SIMSREE, Welingkar, PUMBA, MET, Chetana, and SIES also participate in the common admission process. The process begins with the DTE CAP round registration, followed by the release of the merit list. After the merit list is out, students can fill out their college preferences according to which they are allotted seats. If they are allotted their first preference, they are not allowed to sit for subsequent rounds. However, students who do not get their first preference can choose to float their allotment and sit for the next CAP round. There are three CAP rounds held, although JBIMS seats often get filled in the first round itself.
