NIBM Pune Admission Process for PGDM/MBA
Candidates were required to apply online through the official NIBM admission portal. Selection was based on CAT 2025/GMAT scores, followed by the Oral Communication Test (OCT), Personal Interview, academic profile, extracurricular achievements, and work experience.
Eligibility Criteria for PGDM Program at NIBM Pune
- The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree, with at least 50% marks (45% marks for reserved category) or equivalent CGPA, awarded by any of the Universities in India/other educational institutions/deemed as a University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956.
- In case the candidates got grades/CGPA instead of marks, the conversion of grades/CGPA to percentage of marks would be based on the procedure certified by the university/institution from where they have obtained the bachelor’s degree.
- Candidates appearing for the final year of bachelor’s degree/equivalent examination and those who have completed degree requirement and are awaiting results can also apply. Such candidates must get a certificate from the Principal/Head of the Department/Registrar/ Director of the University /Institution certifying that the candidate is currently in the final year/is awaiting final results and has obtained at least 50% marks or equivalent based on latest available grades/marks.
- Such candidates, if selected, will be allowed to join the program provisionally only if they submit a certificate from the Principal/Registrar of their college/institute stating that they have completed all the requirements (the results may, however, be awaited) for obtaining the bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification on the date of issue of the certificate.
- Their admission will be confirmed only when they submit the mark sheet and a certificate of having passed the bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification. The deadline for submission of the their mark sheet and the certificate is October 31, 2026.
- Non-fulfillment of this condition will automatically result in the cancellation of the provisional admission. NIBM would not allow any candidate to join the program in case the candidate is unable to complete all the requirements for a bachelor degree on or before June 30, 2026.
- Instances of any incorrect information and process violation detected at any stage of the selection process will lead to disqualification of the candidate.
Screening Test
For admission to the 2026–28 batch, applicants were shortlisted using CAT 2025 or GMAT scores. CAT remained the primary benchmark for shortlisting.

Scores secured by the candidates in CAT exam conducted by IIMs, Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT) will be used for the purpose of screening. CAT will be the benchmark for screening of applicants. IIMs or any other Institutions will have no role either in selection process or in the conduct of the program.
Selection Process of NIBM Pune Admission
The selection of candidates for admission will be based on Scores arrived at in the Screening Process, Personal Interview, Oral Communication Test, Academic Performance, Participation in extracurricular activities, and Work experience.
Oral Communication Test and Personal Interview (OCT & PI): OCT may be conducted by the panel for personal interviews by giving a topic to the candidates and asking the candidate to speak on the topic. The panel will also score the candidates against extracurricular activities and work experience.
Admission interviews were conducted during April–May 2026 across selected cities, including Bengaluru, Delhi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, and Pune.
Academic Performance: Average of marks secured by the candidates in SSC and HSC will be considered for assessing the academic performance of the candidates.
