MH Law CET (3 yr) exam was held in center proctored, online mode on 2nd and 3rd November 2020 (two slots per day). Paper was of 120 min duration & had 150 questions. The paper had four sections without a sectional time limit, sectional cut-offs or negative marking.

Here is a quick exam analysis:

Legal Aptitude and Legal Reasoning (30 Q)

The legal aptitude and reasoning section across slots was of easy to moderate difficulty level. All questions were of principle-fact type. 22-24 questions were based on criminal law, torts & contracts. There were 2-3 questions from family law, constitutional law and IP law each

In most questions, the principle and facts were one-liners and easy to understand. Several questions were tricky, when it came to options. However, students with a good understanding of concepts and enough practice would have found it easy to navigate this section.

24-26 would be a good score

General Knowledge and Current Affairs (40 Q)

The General Awareness section was of moderate to difficult level across slots. There was some difference in the section pattern across slots. Lengthy and a few confusing questions made this section look difficult. A few static Q added to the complexity. In both slots, most current affairs questions were based on events from May 2020 onwards. 60-65% Q was based on current affairs & the rest were based on static GK

The performance of the students in GK would be different for different time slots.

On average, 27-31 would be a good score

Logical & Analytical Reasoning (30 Q)

There were four sets based on puzzles and seating arrangement (Total 18-19 Q). The topics covered were linear arrangement with North-South facing participants, puzzle on age comparison, matrix arrangement on city, person, etc, circular arrangement with people facing both inside and outside and finally, a puzzle with stores opening in different months. On the whole, arrangement questions were tricky and time-consuming. Questions on inequalities and directions in slot one (5 Q) were replaced by syllogism and blood relations in other slots. There were a few Q on directions, blood relations, coding & critical reasoning. The overall difficulty was moderate to high. 18-20 would be a good score

English (50 Q)

There were two RC passages with 8 Q each. 5 Q were based on fill-in-the-blanks & error detection each. 7 Q were based on sentence correction with the appropriate word or phrase replacement. 5 Q were based on misspelled words. 9 Q on para jumbles came as a surprise.

The overall difficulty level was easy to moderate. A good score would be 35-37

To sum up, the paper pattern & difficulty level was not very different from Law CET (3yr) 2019 paper. A good score should be 105+ for GLC & ILS aspirants

All the best for results
