In this informative session, Jaimin Shah provides a comprehensive guide for students preparing for the IPMAT Indore 2026 and other management entrance exams. He emphasises that success depends on attempting the paper based on its merit rather than adhering to rigid pre-decided targets, as difficulty levels and cutoffs fluctuate annually. Key strategies discussed include the ABC method for question selection, the necessity of strengthening verbal grammar and vocabulary through consistent practice, and the importance of using full-length mocks to build mental stamina. Ultimately, the mentor advises students to focus on maximizing their overall composite score while managing stress through a balanced study routine and technical mastery of high-weightage topics like higher algebra and modern math.

How to prepare for IPMAT Indore 2026? As the exam day draws to a close, here are some tips and tricks from our expert. To master the exam, you should focus on maximising your overall score by moving away from “wild guesses” in Verbal Ability. Build vocab by learning 20 new words every day and prioritise grammar. In Quat, focus on high-weightage topics like Functions, Coordinate Geometry, Higher Algebra, Logarithms, Sequence & Series, and Probability. For Short Answer, target 32 to 40 marks. Practice mocks and spend 2-3 hours analysing your answers. Remember that the Aptitude Test Score (ATS) carries 65% of the final weightage for admission, so you must aim for the highest score possible rather than just clearing cutoffs. Create a preparation mindset and dedicate 6-8 hours to your studies daily. But avoid overstudying for the last 14-15 hours so that your mind stays fresh for the exam.

As IPMAT Indore 2026 draws to a close, our expert Jaimin Shah recently hosted an “Ask Me Anything” session to address the most pressing concerns of aspirants. Whether you are struggling with fluctuating scores or wondering how to manage your final 30 days, this guide breaks down the essential strategies to help you secure your seat at IIM Indore.

How to Crack IPMAT Indore Verbal Ability?

To crack IPMAT Indore VA, you should focus on the following points:

  1. Move beyond guesswork and focus on choosing a clear, correct answer.
  2. Develop a reading habit. Score fluctuations are a result of a lack of familiarity with the reading process.
  3. Don’t ignore grammar, which is a massive score booster. You can finish 5 grammar questions in 5 minutes, helping you gain 20 points.
  4. Build your vocabulary by learning about 20 new words every day. A good tip is to study all four options in every vocab question from your mocks. That way, you can learn up to 500 new words over the course of 20 mocks.

How important is Verbal in IPMAT? Verbal plays a crucial role in IPMAT, especially in exams like IPMAT Indore. The Verbal Ability section tests

  • Reading Comprehension
  • Vocabulary
  • Grammar
  • Critical reasoning.

Not only in the entrance test, but English skills will be helpful for the Personal Interview (PI). Regularly reading newspapers and books will improve performance. Students often underestimate this section, but it is a major scoring area and can boost their overall scores. A balanced preparation strategy should give equal importance to both Quant and Verbal to maximise overall performance.

IPMAT Indore Verbal Ability

One of the most concerning problems for students is their inconsistent VA scores, which range from 40 to 100. This happens when you can end up “guessing” the right answer after eliminating two options. Follow these tips to boost your IPMAT Verbal Ability score.

How to Crack IPMAT Indore Quant?

To crack IPMAT Indore Quant, follow these steps:

  1. Target must-do topics such as Functions and Graphs; Coordinate Geometry; Higher Algebra and Logarithms; Sequence, Series, and Progressions; and Probability and Combinations.
  2. Focus on concepts. Many questions like those on minima/maxima or basic trigonometry can be done without a pen if your concepts are strong.

The IPMAT Mock Test Strategy

Mocks are the “best way to learn and improve”. To score well in IPMAT Indore 2026, attempt mocks as much as you can. Mock tests are absolutely essential to crack IPMAT. If you skip mocks, you’re not really preparing for the exam; you’re just studying. So, don’t run away from mocks; rather, take low scores with a pinch of salt. Success depends on performance under pressure, not just knowledge. Mocks bridge this gap. Decisions regarding ‘Which section first’, ‘How long per question’, and ‘When to skip’ can only be learned through mocks. Here are 5 rules for IPMAT mocks.

  1. Ideally, two mocks should be taken every week. Increase the number to three in the final week before the exam.
  2. If you find the IMS IPMAT mocks difficult, don’t get discouraged. Our mocks are designed to be more difficult than the IPMAT so that you don’t get any bad surprises on exam day.
  3. Use the three-step strategy, sorting questions into three categories: Easy, Moderate, and Difficult. Solve Easy first, Moderate second and Difficult last only if time permits.
  4. Analysis is key. Spend 2-3 hours analysing your mocks to understand your mistakes.
  5. Dedicate 6 to 8 hours daily to preparation. However, avoid studying for 14–15 hours. IPMAT is an aptitude test; you need a fresh mind to apply concepts, not a tired one that has just “mugged up” facts.
  6. High-pressure exams bring stress. Combat this with 10–15 minutes of daily meditation or yoga and by ignoring “outside noise” from those who doubt your potential.

Looking Beyond Indore: JIPMAT and Rohtak

While Indore is the primary goal for many, don’t forget IPMAT Rohtak and JIPMAT.

  • No Sectional Cutoffs: Unlike Indore, Rohtak and JIPMAT typically do not have sectional cutoffs.
  • Maximise Overall Scores: For Rohtak, a “safe” score is often in the 360–380+ range. For JIPMAT, aim for 295+ marks. Because there are no sectional limits, start with your strongest areas to build momentum.

Always attempt the paper based on its merit. If it’s difficult, it’s difficult for everyone, and cutoffs will drop. Stay focused, keep practicing, and aim for the highest score possible to secure your future in management.
