XAT 2026 Selection Process
The XAT Selection Process 2026 will start as soon as the results are announced. XLRI does not offer unified counselling. Institutes that accept XAT scores handle counselling differently, depending on their selection criteria.
- The XAT selection process consists of candidate shortlisting, rounds of in-person interviews and group discussions, and final selection.
- Those who clear the XAT cut-off will be added to a shortlist for the GD-PI round.
- The final merit list is determined by adding together the scores from the GK and Essay sections, job experience, prior academic performance, and the XAT 2024 and XAT GD-PI.
- The XAT scores carry 60% weightage in the final merit list, while the GD/PI scores carry 25% weightage.
- Except for XLRI, XIMB, SPJIMR, IMT-G, and IMI-D, most reputable universities have a cut-off point of 25–26 marks, which is approximately where we expect the 85%ile score to be. The top universities indicated above will contact students who scored between 28 and 29. Finally, scoring 30-32 should result in a call from the highly recognised XLRI.
