JIPMAT Syllabus 2026: Section-Wise Topics and Weightage

The JIPMAT 2026 syllabus covers Quantitative Aptitude (QA), Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR) and Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension (VARC). QA comprises 33 questions which includes Class 10-11 level maths. DILR has 33 questions covering topics such as tables, line graphs, puzzles, etc. VARC includes 34 questions related to reading comprehension, grammar, vocabulary, para jumbles, sentence correction, etc. 

The Joint Integrated Programme in Management Admission Test (JIPMAT) is a national-level entrance examination conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for candidates aspiring to join the five-year Integrated Programme in Management (IPM) at IIM Jammu and IIM Bodh Gaya. The program aims to equip students with advanced managerial and decision-making skills using a multidisciplinary curriculum that meets global standards.

Selection Process

The admission process for the IPM programme at IIM Jammu and IIM Bodh Gaya is simple, requiring candidates to appear for the written assessment, i.e., JIPMAT. Unlike other IPM programs, IIM Jammu and IIM Bodhgaya give 100% weightage to the written exam while creating the final merit list. There is no WAT PI round. Both institutes release merit lists based on their respective criteria for qualified candidates. At IIM Jammu, candidates must achieve a sectional cut-off of 50 percentile (General Category) in each section. For IIM Bodh Gaya, the minimum qualifying sectional raw scores are determined after the results are announced, depending on the overall pool of candidates.

Since no sectional time limit exists, students can switch between sections and strategise their time efficiently. 

The JIPMAT exam will tentatively be scheduled for April 2026; you need to buckle down and work on rounding out the syllabus well in time.

Most of the questions in Quantitative Aptitude are easy, but they are time-consuming. You will come across 3 to 4 questions with 2 Statements, and each Statement is a different question by itself. Hence, we are actually not solving 4 questions, but we are solving 8.

Logical Reasoning and Data Interpretation 

Logical Reasoning comprises:

  • Coding-Decoding
  • Clocks
  • Calendar
  • Arrangements
  • Puzzles

Most of the questions in the Logical Reasoning sections are easy, and students will be able to attempt all of them.

Data Interpretation comprises 2 to 3 sets, each with 3 to 4 questions. The questions could be based on:

Verbal Reasoning comprises about 8-10 questions on an easy-to-moderate difficulty level and covers topics such as:

  • Statement-Conclusion
  • Cause-Effect
  • Statement-Assumptions

Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension

Reading Comprehension:

It typically involves two passages (250-300 words), each with five questions.

Topics can range from economics, history, and science to current affairs and more.

Question types broadly involve specific details, main idea, tone, title, inference and contextual vocabulary.

Vocabulary

Vocabulary is assessed through a variety of question formats. The key areas include:
